Your body’s defences in focus

When it is unpleasant and cold outside, we are of course less likely to spend time outdoors. Instead, we crowd ourselves into buses and trains, spend time shopping or watch yet another movie.

A joyful family day at the beach: a father carries his smiling son on his shoulders, while the mother holds their hands. They share laughter and happiness against a backdrop of ocean waves and a clear sky, creating a warm, loving atmosphere.

All about the immune system

Support your body’s defences!

The heated air in many rooms dries out the mucous membranes of the nose and throat during the colder months, making them more susceptible to external influences. The role of our immune system is then to detect and fight off the intruders.

Regular breaks and endurance sports such as jogging, walking or cycling can improve our resilience.

In order to strengthen the body's defences, a good supply of nutrients is also very important. We should regularly consume vitamin C as well as the trace elements, zinc and selenium, through our food. And vitamin D can be described as a true “all-rounder” – it also makes a valuable contribution to the function of the immune system!

Strong defences provide the best protection

Adults may have to deal with a viral infection a few times annually and children, even more so. This can mainly be explained by the fact that children often have close physical contact, do not yet take hand washing seriously and the immune system is not yet fully developed in childhood.

Regardless of age, the trace element, zinc, and vitamin C, play a special role in our immune system.

With that in mind: keep your shields up!
